My Story
I come from an incredibly diverse country, South Africa, with 11 official languages and people from very different cultures. I also had the privilege to have grown up on a coal mine, thus enabling me to identify with poverty amongst the racial tension of segregation years. I enjoyed serving and reaching out to people of different cultures all my life, which led me to become a pastor. It was in seminary that I fell in love with teaching and with my wife! I have no doubt that this was the best thing that ever happened to me as it led not only to receiving my PhD, but also to gaining two lovely kids!
After we came to America in 2008, I quit my job as a pastor in 2013 to start a non-profit organization and dedicated my life to serving in ministry to several countries around the world (Thailand, Papua, Mali, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Haiti and Jamaica). This enabled me to speak more and more, in a huge variety of settings and cultures, and I started to enjoy it more and more, till it finally led to our decision to pursue speaking more intentionally.
