Greetings!
My name is Wynand de Wet.

I’m a speaker, teacher, and work also in the non-profit sector, with the hope to live a life that will make a lasting impact.

I am originally from South Africa, where I met my lovely wife. We immigrated to the United States of America at the end of 2008 when my daughter was 7 and my son was 5 years old.
My Story
I come from an incredibly diverse country, South Africa, with 11 official languages and people from very different cultures. I also had the privilege to have grown up on a coal mine, thus enabling me to identify with poverty amongst the racial tension of segregation years. I enjoyed serving and reaching out to people of different cultures all my life, which led me to become a pastor. It was in seminary that I fell in love with teaching and with my wife! I have no doubt that this was the best thing that ever happened to me as it led not only to receiving my PhD, but also to gaining two lovely kids!

After we came to America in 2008, I quit my job as a pastor in 2013 to start a non-profit organization and dedicated my life to serving in ministry to several countries around the world (Thailand, Papua, Mali, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Haiti and Jamaica). This enabled me to speak more and more, in a huge variety of settings and cultures, and I started to enjoy it more and more, till it finally led to our decision to pursue speaking more intentionally.
Now
My background and experience in global ministry have helped me to understand the struggles of people from all walks of life, and from different cultures and backgrounds. I’ve learned to connect quickly with people, and I care deeply.

I want people to succeed, and I’ve learned, coming from very humble beginnings myself, that against all odds, this is possible. Hard work, dedication, and applying some simple life principles consistently can get you there. There is hope and a chance of success for all of us!
